My Story

The missionaries that walked with me during my time in college “were determined to share not only the gospel of God, but [their] very selves as well” (1 Thes 2:8). Their witness changed my life, so much in fact that I pursued religious life after graduating. A beautiful season of discernment followed in which I had the blessing of living with a community of Carmelite Sisters. In a surprising turn of events, and with profound clarity, the Lord has called me to “put out into the deep” (Lk 5:4) and return to San Diego to be His hands and feet. As an SDSU alumna, I have first-hand experience of the radical, life-changing impact this missionary apostolate can have on the lives of those on a secular, college campus. I am overjoyed to be running alongside a team of zealous student leaders and missionaries who are on fire to save souls and make Heaven crowded. What is happening and has been happening for years at the SDSU Newman Center can no longer be contained. The Lord has come to “set the world on fire” and indeed it is already blazing! (Lk 12:49).
