AVA GUERRA

“Go home to your own people, and tell them how much the Lord has done for you and what mercy he has shown you.” And he went away and began to proclaim in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him, and everyone was amazed."
Mark 5: 19-20

My Story

Hello! My name is Ava Guerra. I am so thrilled to be a Paradigm Missionary! I grew up in East County San Diego attending Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Alpine, CA. I came to SDSU in search of a community, and after my first few encounters with the people at the Newman Center, I was all in! It was through the investment of missionaries and new friends that inspired me to deepen my relationship with the Lord, and ultimately sparked a complete transformation of heart and lifestyle. I believe that time in college is a prime catalyst for seeking out a relationship with Christ because of the freedom and joy it brings in a place that has the potential to be so isolating. We are made for an intimate relationship with Christ, we are made for community, we are made to be Saints! I am excited to learn to love in a way that holds so much depth and richness during my time as a missionary, and share it with the students I will encounter in the “decapolis” of universities in San Diego!
